Yesterday, we reported that Darwyn Cooke was being treated for cancer - according to family representatives, he passed away early this morning at the age of 53.
According to his family, he passed away with his family in Florida:
We regret to inform you that Darwyn lost his battle with cancer early this morning at 1:30 AM ET. We read all of your messages of support to him throughout the day yesterday. He was filled with your love and surrounded by friends and family at his home in Florida.
The family indicated that donations in Cooke’s name can be made to theCanadian Cancer Society and Hero Initiative.
Cooke was well known for the distinctive style he employed with his numerous comics, particularly DC: The New Frontier.
