Calvin Harris confirms break up with Taylor Swift after 15 months together

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have broken up.

The pair had been dating since early last year after hitting it off at the Brits and were first photographed together in April 2015.

They shared pictures of their first anniversary on social media in March and Taylor Swift said their relationship was "magical".

She also posted a video as she watched her boyfriend's headline slot at Coachella in April.

Calvin Harris tweeted to say that the split had been friendly.

While appearing at an awards show in LA in April, Taylor Swift thanked Calvin Harris and called him Adam on stage.

The singer said she finally had someone to enjoy her success with away from the limelight.

"For the first time, I had the most amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and when the crowds were all gone," she told the crowd.

"So I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that."

Calvin Harris was injured in a car crash last month in LA and was forced to cancel a number of performances.

The 32-year-old, whose real name is Adam Wiles, was a passenger in a Cadillac when the vehicle hit a Volkswagen Beetle in Coldwater Canyon, near Beverley Hills.

A statement posted on Harris's Facebook page last week said he was "still recovering" as he pulled out of two Las Vegas shows.

He'd previously cancelled a performance at the Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas and a headline slot at the Hangout Festival in Alabama after the crash.

For their first anniversary in March, Calvin Harris posted a Snapchat video of a special cake the couple had made for each other.

"We got a one year cake," he says. "It's been one year. Yay!" while Taylor smiles and nods.

Taylor also posted a photo of an engraved locket she got from the Dumfries DJ.

The couple's brown cake featured white icing saying "one year" and red love hearts. In recent weeks, the pair haven't been as public as they had been previously.

The last photo of them together was taken on May 19, a day before Calvin Harris was involved in a car accident.

Before then, he wasn't at the Met Gala, which Taylor Swift co-hosted.

Swift also hasn't tweeted since May 13 and hasn't made reference to him on social media since the end of April, when she retweeted his Rihanna collaboration.

It's a stark contrast to earlier in the year when they posted lots of photos on social media on a tropical getaway they took to celebrate their anniversary.
