Even though Sia still isn’t showing her face, she has blown us away again! But it wasn’t just her performance on ‘Ellen’ that was breathtaking — her crazy new wig was just as impressive. Watch Sia’s entire ‘Ellen’ visit right here!
At this point, we might as well assume we won’t be seeing Sia‘s face anytime soon. Just because her face is covered, though, Sia has proved that doesn’t keep her from being amazing! The 40-year-old singer kept her wig game strong when she stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Feb. 2, also giving a roaring rendition of her new song “Bird Set Free”…and we practically forgot that she doesn’t want to show us her face!
In classic Sia fashion, she stood in the corner of the stage to belt out her tune while a dancer performs along with the song. Sia hit every note flawlessly as a male dancer prances around the simple empty-room setup, which made for one beautiful performance. But perhaps the most captivating part of the whole thing was the funky new wig she debuted!
We’ve seen Sia rock multiple variations of massive bows throughout her face-hiding days, but this one may have topped them all — because it was made entirely of hair. She turned her half-black, half-blonde wig into a wig and bow combo, donning a huge black and blonde bow on top of her head! Sia certainly knows how to make a hair statement!
Although Sia didn’t mention anything about her new wig when she sat down with Ellen DeGeneres, we’re thinking this could be one wig that we’ll be seeing more than once. It’s too wild to not wear again! While we didn’t get to hear the story behind her latest hairstyle, Sia did explain the story behind “Bird Set Free,” and it’s pretty epic!
“That one I wrote and I loved it. I wrote it for ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ the movie but they ended up taking a song called ‘Flashlight.,'” Sia explained. “So then I pitched it to Rihanna and then Rihanna took that one. And then Adele heard it and Adele cut it. Then Adele gave it back to me, and I was grateful because I had seller’s remorse. So that’s one of those really happy endings.”
As much as we would’ve loved to hear Rihanna or Adele belt out “Bird Set Free,” Sia seems like she was the perfect fit for the track. With or without the wild wig, Sia completely slayed that performance!
